Eleven Year 9 pupils have been given an amazing chance to learn all about Chinese Language and Culture, in lessons delivered in school by UCLan.

Teacher Mia Liu will come into school every week and pupils will explore one of the world’s most widely spoken languages as well as learning about Chinese traditions and culture.

The course, organised by Head of Languages Mrs Scully, will run for the full academic year with pupils able to sit the Chinese Youth Test (YCT), a nationally recognised qualification for young learners of Chinese.

Head of Languages at Priory, Mrs Scully, explained, “As a school, we chose to collaborate with UCLan to deliver Chinese language and culture lessons because it offers our pupils a unique opportunity to broaden their global understanding, experience an exciting new language, and develop valuable cultural awareness for the future. What a fantastic opportunity!”
