Newcomer Charlie beats the drums to success

Drummer Charlie is certainly hitting the right notes!

Year 9 Charlie is an extremely talented drummer who practises at home but also uses the school facilities every day to hone his skills.

Charlie said: “I started drumming when I was four. I went to a talent show when I was at primary school with a teenager drumming and it inspired me to play the drums.

“From then on I started taking lessons and I go to a teacher every Monday.

“I listen to a lot of music and the different drumming styles from Latin, rap, jazz and heavy metal.

“I also like to listen to different genres of music and different techniques. I listen to it on an iPad, record player and even cassette player to see how it sounds. Music helps me relax.

“In the future, I would like to be in a band or a music producer.”
