Welcome New Intake 2023

This week we welcomed our new intake of pupils and their parents as they begin their journey at Priory.

On Tuesday evening, Mr Eastham introduced key staff and Priory's policies to parents in the Assembly Hall. Meanwhile, the new pupils met their Head of Year, Mrs Farley, in the Auditorio where Year 7 Noah and Lainie spoke confidently about their first year experiences. The evening was an opportunity for us to get to know our new families and for them to pick up essential information about uniform, transport etc and ask questions about the transition from primary school. 

On Wednesday, our new pupils returned to spend their first full day at Priory to sample lessons, navigate their way around and find out more about their new school. 

Before experiencing lessons in PE, History and Science, the full intake met in the Assembly Hall for 'getting to know you' activities and pupil bingo!  

Mrs Farley reacquainted herself with the year group which she had already met in their primary schools and said, 

"It was great to have everyone together for their induction day. There were a few nerves but I think by the time they had even finished the first set of activities the majority felt a lot more comfortable. It was great to see the excitement on their faces and I’m sure they will all settle well in to their new surroundings in September, and of course we have Summer School before then which has been really well received and I know they are really looking forward to!”

Prior to leaving at the end of their induction day, our Year 7 helpers took their younger peers on a tour, taking in the sites of our beautiful gardens, the Hex and the Technology block, sports facilities and everything in between.
