Year 9 pupil's talent is music to our ears

Ben is a self-taught pianist who has Elton John and Queen as his inspiration.

“I took it up about a year ago. I enjoy listening to all music, and then I got an electric piano for my birthday. I started to play my own songs after listening to songs I liked, and began adapting them.”

Ben impressed everyone at last term’s Summer Arts Evening and performed in front of the whole school in the end of year assembly having perfected his own compilations, for which he received much applause.

Ben has shown dedication to his passion despite the challenges he faced last year, demonstrating courage and commitment, which is an inspiration to anyone who may be facing challenging times.
