30 June 2023

Friday, 30 June was the date set in the calendar for a whole school 70th Anniversary celebration picnic and sponsored walk - but it wasn't to be.

The day was to commence with a sponsored walk in the morning followed by a picnic event on the school field for the remainder of the day. There was to be traditional games and activities, music through the decades and a whole school photo - all topped off with a picnic lunch.  Pupils were also to get a free ice cream!

Unfortunately, persistent rain meant we had to cancel our plans but the Mrs Dowson's Farm Park ice cream and fruit sorbet didn't dampen the spirits of these Year 7 and Year 8 classes on the day.

700 cartons delivered - one for each of us!

Assistant Principal, Mr Gee said, "We had to take the difficult decision to postpone the sponsored walk and picnic. The walk will happen at a later date, before the end of the academic year, and we will choose a date when we know we have a day of dry weather, even if this is with 24 hours’ notice."

We also hope to have an afternoon of the planned activities on another date and will let pupils and parents know accordingly.
