Former Priory pupil Diogo Pinto (Class of 2021) made a welcome return to school on Friday, taking time to catch up with several of his former teachers before embarking on an exciting new chapter in his life.
Diogo visited at the end of the school day and enjoyed reminiscing with Mr Kenrick, Mr Faulkner, Mr Watters, as well as Mrs Eastham and Mr Bedford, who taught him Science during his time at Priory.
The visit was particularly special as Diogo was able to share the news that he had graduated from the University of Lancashire (ULan) just the day before, having successfully completed a degree in Pharmacology.
His former teachers were delighted to hear about his achievements, with Mrs Eastham and Mr Bedford especially proud to see how far he has come since leaving Priory five years ago.
Diogo is now preparing to move to Portugal next week, where he will stay with family while exploring opportunities to begin a career in his chosen field.
The visit also sparked a fascinating conversation between Diogo and Mrs Eastham, who studied a similar degree. The pair enjoyed comparing notes and discovering that they had been taught by some of the same university lecturers, despite studying years apart.
Reflecting the strong connections that remain long after students leave school, Diogo's visit was a wonderful reminder of the diverse and successful paths our alumni go on to pursue.
We wish Diogo every success as he begins this exciting new adventure and look forward to hearing about his future achievements.
