The U15s girls cricket team competed in the South Ribble indoor cricket tournament last Wednesday, 17 January at the South Ribble Tennis Centre.

The event was organised by Lancashire Cricket with three South Ribble schools entering - Lostock Hall Academy, All Hallows and Penwortham Girls High School.

Jane and Navah got Priory off to a fantastic start with their excellent batting skills which enabled us to score an impressive 90 runs in our first game against All Hallows' B team.

The girls grew in confidence after each game and won both their next two matches against Lostock Hall and Penwortham Girls with some outstanding batting and bowling skills from the full team. Molly stumped four players out in one game, which was down to her determination and desire to win.

Rosie, Darcey and Abbie showed some fantastic fielding skills and Phoebe, Sophia and Aliyah demonstrated excellent bowling technique, especially in the final game, where unfortunately they got beat by six runs.

Player of the Tournament for her batting skills goes to Jane W, who had to retire due to scoring over 25 runs, and Molly S for her outstanding fielding.

Proud team coach, Mrs Bullock said, "It was a fantastic team effort from all, with some excellent skills being shown and great teamwork. We finished joint second, well done ladies!"

All the girls are now looking forward to the outdoor competition in summer term.

Team:  Jane W, Navah T, Phoebe A-W, Darcey K, Abbie S, Aliyah M, Rosie S, Molly S and Sophia S.
