Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Dylan and Will...

Football mad Dylan and Will donned their favourite football kits when we interviewed them on World Book Day last week – and were enjoying books about their heroes.

Dylan supports Liverpool and is reading an Ultimate Football Hero book on Mo Salah.

“What impressed me is that, in his younger days, he had to get eight buses to go to training,” said Dylan.

“I admire him for that and his football.”

Dylan plays for Ribbleton Reds as a left winger/striker.

“I enjoy reading about the lives of footballers but also like books like ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid.’

Manchester United fan Will, who dressed in his England kit, was reading: “Marcus Rashford: You are a Champion.”

“I have been on a stadium tour of Old Trafford and I enjoyed reading about his life and his tips on how you can get to where you want to be in life.”

Will plays for Tarleton Corinthians as a right midfielder.

Dylan and Will's English teacher, Mr Owen, added, "Dylan and Will are positive, resilient, and friendly Priory students. Both share their enthusiasm for sports within the English classroom; indeed, we actively encourage non-fiction reading to further understanding of the wider world. It is fantastic to see pupils enjoying the library space, which is intended for both study and unwinding. Hopefully Dylan can use his persuasive writing techniques to tempt Will into supporting a different club!"
