Year 8 pupils Poppy and Maddie admit they are ‘horse-mad’ and have been helping out at stables.

Maddie carried out some voluntary work at the World Horse Welfare in Blackpool last year while Poppy helps out at her mum’s stables.

Poppy said: “I just do some sweeping the yard and mucking out. I have a horse called Dominoe and I ride him.

“Both mine and Maddie’s mums have had horses all their lives so we have been brought up with horses.”

Maddie said: “We got a rescue horse called Rocky who was found in a field and he spent some time at the World Horse Welfare which is why I helped out there.

“I mucked out the horses and exercised them as well.”
