Last week, Priory was delighted to welcome back former pupil Alfie Whitney, who joined the Technology department for a week of work experience.
Alfie, who left Priory in 2023, is currently studying Graphic Design at Runshaw College and is already setting his sights on a future career in education. His return to school gave him the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while also inspiring current pupils with his enthusiasm and commitment.
During his placement, Alfie proved to be a fantastic addition to the department. He quickly settled into school life and approached every task with energy and professionalism. Over the course of the week, he supported students across a range of subject areas, including Food Technology, Art and Engineering, offering guidance and encouragement in lessons.
Alfie also played a key role behind the scenes, helping to enhance classroom display boards, assisting with maintenance checks alongside the Technology team, and working with the IT support staff on a variety of technical tasks. His willingness to turn his hand to anything - from supporting learning to helping declutter and organise - made a real difference to the department.
Staff were particularly impressed by Alfie’s positive attitude and readiness to get involved in all aspects of school life. His experience at Priory clearly continues to influence his ambitions, and it was a pleasure to see him giving back to the school community.
Alongside Alfie, Priory also welcomed another former pupil back into school last week, who spent time working with the IT team as part of their own work experience placement through Runshaw College.
It is always fantastic to see former students returning to develop their skills and contribute to school life.
We are incredibly proud of our past pupils and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.
