A Winning Display of Effort and Enthusiasm from Priory’s Year 7 & 8 Athletes
8 March 2026

REPORT BY MRS BULLOCK
On Monday, 2 March, our Year 7 and Year 8 girls took part in the indoor athletics competition hosted at All Hallows.
From start to finish, the girls represented Priory with outstanding team spirit, enthusiasm and determination. Their support for one another, cheering teammates on, celebrating successes, and encouraging each other through the events was one of the real highlights of the day.
Competing against strong schools from across South Ribble, both teams showcased impressive effort and commitment across a wide range of track and field events.
Year 8 finished second overall, showing excellent consistency, effort, and resilience.
Year 7 achieved a strong fourth place, demonstrating huge determination and a fantastic attitude throughout.
Stand‑out performances came from J-V Taylor (Year 7) and E Matthews (Year 8), who excelled in their events and made significant contributions to their respective teams. However, every athlete played an important role, and the overall success was a reflection of their combined hard work and teamwork.
Year 7 Team - H Lockley, B Proctor, C Caslake, A Pennington, S Andrews, J‑V Taylor, B Livesey, E Shuttleworth
Year 8 Team - E Matthews, I Dunn, E Parkinson, F Bracegirdle, A Gutteridge, N Kilbane
A huge well done to all the girls involved. Their effort, positivity and team spirit were exceptional, and they should be incredibly proud of how they represented the school.
