On Monday our Year 8 'A team' took to the field in a 7-a-side tournament.

With eight schools involved, each team played seven matches, lasting six minutes each. Priory enjoyed two wins and three draws among their results, finishing joint fourth in the table.

The standout performance was a comeback 3-1 victory against Leyland St Mary's. After conceding an early goal the team showed great resilience and equalised with a powerful header by Igho direct from Mapstone's corner. Further goals from Igho and Mapstone crowned a great fightback win.

The team coaches, Mr Sneddon and Mr Raynor, were really proud of all involved, and said, "The boys gave everything in each match and put on some wonderful performances despite the poor weather conditions. They encouraged one another when things didn't go as planned. We were really pleased with the skills shown and the intricate passing to one another."

Well done team : Will D, Adam B, Isaac S, Excellence I, Josh M, Alex H, Dan McC, Theo H, Finn T.

There will be a Year 8 B team 7-a-side tournament on Tuesday, 19 December.
