Priory's Year 11 historians embarked on a journey into the past by visiting Thackray Medical Museum last Friday.

Over 70 pupils headed to Leeds to learn more about how medicine and surgery have changed over the past 2000 years. Pupils experienced an informative, gory and even smelly session about Victorian surgery, led by museum staff.  The group also enjoyed a tour of the museum that took in a recreation of a Victorian street, prosthetics from the Great War and even a sexual health clinic.

Trip leader Mrs Cauchi said, “Our pupils did us proud at the museum and they had a great opportunity to see what we have been learning about in class recreated for them at Thackray.”
