Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Hiylie...

Hiylie enjoys reading in school and at home at the moment – but she is hoping she will shine on the stage in the future.

Hiylie is reading ‘Hani and Ishu’s Fake Guide to Dating’ by Adiba Jaigirdar.

“I haven’t really got into this yet as I have just started it but I am looking forward to reading it,” said Hiylie.

Waterstones describe it as ‘Opposites attract in this delightful and touching novel in which two Bengali girls put on a fake relationship only to find out they get on really rather well.’

Hiylie continued: “I like all kinds of books – from reality to fantasy. My favourite authors are Tom Fletcher, whose books are action, and Alice Oseman, whose books are quite serious.

“In school, I enjoy Drama and English and I had a part in the school production of Mary Poppins.

“Out of school, I attend Preston Trampolining Club every Tuesday. I have been there about a year and it’s enjoyable. My dream is to be an actress and star in films!”

Hiylie's English teacher, Mrs Elliott, added, "Hiylie is super enthusiastic in English and often comes up with some great ideas.  I love that she enjoys reading and hope that one day it leads her to great things...maybe reading her own acceptance speech at the Oscars!"
