Last Wednesday, 11 January, over twenty Priory girls from Years 7-9 were invited to the AO Arena in Manchester to watch a Vitality Netball International test match.

England's Vitality Roses welcomed Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls for a three-match test series. Jamaica were ranked third in the world, one place above England, after winning an historic silver medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

It was the England team’s first international match in Manchester since November 2016 when they also played Jamaica.  The Roses had to come from behind to beat Jamaica 73-52 in the first game of their match series which was amazing game to watch.

After this event England played two more games in London losing the second and then going on to beat Jamaica 63-59 in their final match to wrap up a 2-1 series victory against the Sunshine Girls.

England are now ranked third in the world!

Girls PE teacher and Head of Year 9, Mrs Bullock, said, "The girls had a fantastic evening, watching the match, getting involved with the sponsors' activities such as The Vitality Photo Booth and the Army reaction challenge.  They really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the evening and we can’t wait for another match!"
