On Friday, 27 May pupils and staff supported the Ukraine fundraising appeal by donating £1 to wear items of blue and yellow.  From hair accessories to t-shirts, tops and ties, this brought a colourful end to the term with a great cause in mind.

In addition to the donations, we held a bake sale at break time. It is safe to say, the cakes sold in record speed! We even had a queue outside the Food Technology room with pupils hungry for a slice of the action. Languages teachers, Mrs Bailey and Mrs Scully, also embraced the day by creating Ukraine-themed activities for the pupils during their French lessons.

Organiser, Miss Beesley, said "The kindness and generosity of the pupils throughout has been fantastic and very humbling. From volunteers Henry W (Yr 9), DaMari S (Yr9) and Ella G (Yr8) helping out on the cake stall, pupils and staff providing cake donations to large monetary individual donations from Jack J (Yr9) and Afnan S (Yr8) and, Darcy C (Yr11)who donated a large number of toiletries. We would also like to personally thank Morrison's at Riversway for their very generous community donation to our cake sale - their cakes were delicious!"

The final amount of money raised for the day was £248.98.

The total is such a fantastic amount and this will benefit so many families who are suffering from the war in Ukraine, we are sure they will greatly appreciate what Priory families have done for them.

We will now use the money to purchase the relevant goods and equipment required for the Ukraine families which will be taken to MCR Therapies in Fulwood, who will deliver them to where they need to be. We will also use part of the money for an online donation point where it again can be used as required.

Thank you to everyone again for the part they played in making this a very successful day.
